The composing of the Concerto began as far back as 1999 and has slowly evolved into a three movement work, with the middle movement involving the Bach Chorale Ihr Gestirn, Ihr Lüfte inspiring the entire work. The concerto was written for and commissioned by pianist Simone Dinnerstein.
